16. Governance
OFM is a company limited by guarantee (no. 6258501) and a registered charity (no. 1121058)
Our governance is supplied by a Board of Trustees which meets six times a year  and provides insight, oversight and support to the Service Director, Marion Stevenson.

Margie Charnock practised for 15 years as a solicitor in company law, 12 years being in London and then 3 years in Oxford with Henmans.
In 1990 she became a founding trustee of the Family Nurturing Network, a registered charity, teaching parenting skills to groups of parents and childrenwhere difficulties were being experienced.  She was Chair for some years and also led the fundraising group.  This charity merged at the beginning of 2005.
She was a trustee of the Friends of Sobell House,  on the local NSPCC committee, and Chair of the group running the Dragon School Sale which raises funds for charity.
In early 2005 she joined the Management Board of Oxfordshire Family Mediation and became a trustee when this charity became a company limited by guarantee in 2008, until recently leading the fundraising group.

Nigel Spawton lives and works in Oxfordshire, and is a Partner in  the architects and surveyors practice, Gray Baynes and Shew LLP.   Now remarried, although a former OFM service user, he is well aware of the need for mediation and the benefits it can bring. He has two children.

Sarah Brammeier McCrisken
Sarah is a trained mediator with a background in international conflict resolution.  She is an associate facilitator and coach with iOpener, a research and consulting group.  Sarah believes that mediation gives separating people more control over what is happening in their lives.  She works with the board  to ensure the long-term sustainability of the service through outreach and training.
