Mediators
Mediators come from
a wide range of professional backgrounds, including social
work, probation and business. All are trained by National Family Mediation or other
approved body, are competence assessed to Legal Services Commission
requirements and participate in annual continuous professional development
trainings. Mediators receive regular supervision within the service.

Client Co-ordination
Team
The administration
team comprises an Office and Finance Manager and two Client
Co-ordinators. The team manages the behind the scenes work for all client cases,
as well as supporting the mediation team. They are the first point of contact for all
clients.

Volunteers
Volunteers are needed
to assist with reception cover to assist with early evening
appointments up to between 6 and 8 pm, Monday to Thursdays. As a volunteer you
would assit in a variety of duties, including receiving and welcoming clients when
they arrive for appointments. Voluntary work with OFM provides useful experience
for business and admin students, as well as many other students with an interest in
mediation or charity work. Or can be very rewarding work for someone who has a
few hours to spare each week.

Volunteer Ambassador Scheme
We need volunteers
to promote our services by carrying out information and advice-
giving to families in their own communities. Training will be provided and an NVQ
completed during the volunteering. This will be fully funded and expenses
reimbursed. We are looking for women and lone parents, who are currently not in
work, and preferably are living in the following areas of Oxford: Cutteslowe, New
Marston, Rosehill, Barton, Blackbird and Greater Leys and from the Asian and
African-Caribbean communities.
The application deadline
is 9am Friday January 22nd and interviews will be the
week commencing Monday 25th January 2010.
You must be available
for training on Monday 8th, Wednesday 10th and Friday 12th
February 2010. It is important that you read the role description before applying as
due to the nature of the funding for this opportunity there are some specific criteria
you must meet to be eligible for the training.
