Family Plus: Children's Voice
Children's Voice is a short term service that supports children and young people whose parents live separately; ensuring their voices are heard and taken into consideration.
This is a ‘listening ear’ service for children and young people. Our Children's Workers prove the children a space where they can think and talk about the changes in their family, have an opportunity to talk with their family about their feelings, and for the whole family to think about how to move forward.
The service is for 6 to 18 year olds. Siblings can be seen together or on their own, depending on what they want. Parents and other significant people in the child or young person’s life may be included in some sessions.
Parents do not have had to have been in mediation with our service for children to be able to access the Children's Voice Service.
The introductory and assessment meeting costs £30 and sessions with the child or young person are provided free of charge. The Family Plus Sessions cost Oxfordshire Family Mediation £45 per session to provide although the sessions are provided free of charge. Clients are asked to contribute towards the cost whatever they are able. We recognise that some clients will not be able to cover this cost completely but we expect all to make some kind of contribution towards the cost.
