Fees - According to Income
Initial introductory meetings are charged at £50. At this meeting the mediator will discuss with you the scale of charges.These relate to your income level and include the mediation meetings and all associated work by the mediators or mediation coordinators. Please refer to the following table for current charges. These are for a 90 minute session which allows optimum time for detailed discussions. You are likely to need 2 – 4 mediation sessions, depending on the issues you want to decide. All our charges include VAT.

Our charges cover the mediators' time and all work done outside meetings, including the provision of summaries, telephone calls, administrative processes, letters etc. Your decisions and plans are written down by the mediator in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding or Outcome Statement an no extra cost: there are no hidden extras.
In overall terms, using the Mediation Service along with your solicitor will cost you approximately half of what it might if you used a solicitor alone. (National Audit Office Report 2006).
Costs of separation where mediation is not used are estimated as follows:
* To first appointment: £3k-£5k + VAT and court fees
* To Financial Dispute Resolution hearing: £10k- £12k + VAT and court fees
* To Final Hearing: unlimited
